Songs of days gone by
by Alice McKiel

Here are a few songs Grandma used to sing while she knitted me a scarf or mittens

IRISH LULLABY

Over in Kellarney, many years ago,
Me mither sang a song to me
In a voice so sweet and low
Just a simple little ditty, in her good Irish way,
I'd give the world if she could sing that song to me today

Too ra loo ra loo rah, too ra loo ra lye,
Too ra loo ra loo rah -hush now don't you cry
Too ra loo ra loo rah, too ra loo ra lye,
Too ra loo ra loo rah, that's an Irish Lullaby.
