Reminds me of a story my father told us
of a family living, in the middle of nowhere, in N.B.
Had a son called Frank. None of them could read or write much
and Frank went happily along having others write his name for him.
Then he had to sign something one day and he carefully wrote "James"
Seems someone had told him that was how you spelled Frank!
So one wonders what the records will show for him
But then I have an uncle named David.
No one has ever used that name for him.
Teachers called him Joseph in school because he goes by Joe.
Doubt anyone but close family know Joe doesn't even appear in his given name.
What will history record for him??
