1842 to 1867
Ste Anne de Ristigouche, is situated across the river from Campbellton, NB,
and has been one of the first settlements in that area..
It is now the site of a MicMac Indian Reserve but in the years mentionned
above, it was the only church which existed and these registers hold many
many names of people from the Dalhousie and Campbellton area..
In these registers, you will find 15 years of pain and agony, work and
strugling for many of your ancestors. If you are of Acadian, Irish, Scotish
or British nationality, and your ancestors came to this area you can be sure
to find them here..
They lived a very poor, desolate, pityful life. It is noted that one spring
they were found in Ste Anne of Ristigouche, having nothing left but animal
pelts to eat.
